Mrs Jenny Tew-Guthry A.R.A.D/F.S.F.D/ M.A.T.D. Examiner S.F.D.

(School Principal, Junior and Senior Classical)

Mrs Tew-Guthry studied classical ballet in England and Australia, culminating in two years full time study with Paul Hammond.

She worked as a member of the Channel 7 Ballet and then joined J.C. Williamsons touring Australia and Asia in professional musicals including My Fair Lady, Promises Promises and Charlie Girl.

She has been teaching classical and jazz ballet at the Beau-Rock Ballet School since 1982 and became Principal in 1992. Mrs Tew-Guthry was appointed a Senior Examiner for the Southern Federation of Dance (SFD) in 1998 and she is also a co-choreographer of the current Junior Classical syllabus and the new Major Classical syllabus.  In 2002 she was awarded a Fellowship by the SFD.

Mrs Sarah Tilmanis M.S.F.D. B.Sc. Dip. Ed. Secondary

(Senior Jazz, Eisteddfod Coordinator, Intermediate and Senior Production)

Mrs Tilmanis has studied classical ballet, jazz and tap for many years and has been teaching at the Beau-Rock Ballet School for over 20 years. She is also a talented choreographer and is responsible for much of our competition work.

She is a Science and Mathematics teacher at Parkdale Secondary College and was responsible for the school’s successful Rock Eisteddfod productions for many years. In 2001 she travelled to the UK where she adjudicated the British National Rock Eisteddfod heats and finals.

She has completed the SFD Teaching Certificate, a Science Degree and a Diploma of Education and is a contributing choreographer of the SFD Dance Fusion Syllabus.

Mrs Carolyn McNally L.M.S.F.D. B. App. Sc. Examiner S.F.D.

(Tap Coordinator, Junior, Senior and Open Tap, Eisteddfod Preparation)

Mrs McNally has been teaching classical ballet, jazz and tap for over 33 years. She has appeared in many amateur musicals and in 1989 was nominated for the Victorian Music Guilds’ “Best New Talent Award”.

She holds four Dance Teaching qualifications including the SFD Teaching Certificate and in 1998 was appointed a Senior Examiner for the SFD.

She is also a contributing choreographer of the current SFD senior tap syllabus and holds a degree in Applied Science.

Miss Amanda Jones M.S.F.D. Examiner S.F.D. BA/B/Ed Secondary

(Junior and Senior Jazz, Junior and Senior Classical)

Miss Jones was a student at the Beau-Rock Ballet School for many years. In 2005 she gained her Intermediate Classical Examination and Level 10 Jazz Certificate and in 2006 she completed the SFD Teaching Certificate majoring in Classical.

In 2009 Miss Jones gained her Advanced Classical Examination and her Diploma of Education and in 2010 was appointed to the Dance Fusion Examining Panel.

In 2012 she was appointed to the SFD Board of Examiners and is currently working as a leading teacher at Mornington Secondary College.

Miss Nicole Caddaye M.S.F.D. Dip. Ed. Primary

(Junior and Senior Jazz, Beginner Production)

Miss Caddaye was a long-term student of the Beau-Rock Ballet School and is now a talented teacher, with many roles throughout the school. In 2003 she completed the SFD Teaching Certificate examinations, majoring in jazz.

Miss Caddaye holds a Primary Teaching Diploma from Monash University and was the Academy Director at Patrick Studios Australia 2015-2016.

Tess Molina M.S.F.D. Dip. Ed Secondary

(Junior Tap, Tap Production)

Miss Molina has attended the Beau-Rock Ballet School for over 20 years as both a teacher and student. She is a highly skilled tap dancer and has represented Beau-Rock in numerous eisteddfods and special events. Tess is also a qualified Secondary School teacher and is currently working at Mentone Girls Secondary College.

She has successfully completed the SFD Teaching Certificate majoring in Tap.

 

Tony Keeble M.S.F.D.

(Senior Jazz, Open Jazz, Acrobatics)

Mr. Keeble is a graduate from the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) in Melbourne Australia. With a strong background in Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz, his skills extend to both Choreography and Teaching.

As a Professional Dancer, Tony has worked with Opera Australia, Ausdance Victoria, Wakakirri, Vertical Shadows Dance Company, and more. As a Choreographer he has produced musicals such as 'Hairspray', 'Bring It On' and 'Return to the Forbidden Planet' as well conducting regular dance classes as a Dance Teacher around Australia.

Tony is currently working towards becoming an examiner with the SFD.

 

Rachael Brierley BA (Hons) RAD RTS

(Elite Classical Program Coordinator)

Ms. Brierley has taught throughout the UK, Canada, America and now Australia, successfully preparing hundreds of students for RAD examinations as well as training dancers for full time vocational schools, youth companies and associate programs.

Choreography, especially for large events, makes up a significant part of Rachael's work and she has had the privilege of working with a live orchestra for both the 2011 and 2012 Proms in the Meadow. 

Rachael has developed a passion for Dance Science and now also teaches Floor Barre and practical based Anatomy and Physiology.

Amber Liebenberg

(Senior and Open Classical)

Ms. Liebenberg, originally from Johannesburg, developed a passion for dance from a young age studying extensively in classical ballet. After moving to Auckland, she developed her passion further, studying jazz, contemporary, tap, musical theatre and vocal studies. 

She completed her RAD Advanced 2 ballet examination, gained a diploma in Musical Theatre through the Apollo Theatre School and received her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies through the Royal Academy of Dance, London.

Ms. Liebenberg has had the honour of working with some of Australia’s finest choreographers including Jason Coleman, the Squared Division, Jason Gilkison, Dana Jolly, Yvette Lee and many more.

 

Kelly Bower M.S.F.D. B.Des.

(Junior Classical, Eisteddfod Preparation)

Miss Bower has been attending the Beau-Rock Ballet School as a student of classical and jazz for almost 20 years. She is an accomplished stage performer and has competed in competitions/galas and other productions for most of her time at Beau-Rock. Kelly has also completed a Bachelor of Design, majoring in Fashion, and is a talented costume maker.

In 2016 Miss Bower was awarded the Southern Federation of Dance Teachers Certificate, majoring in Classical.

Alana McDonald M.S.F.D.

(Junior and Senior Jazz, Junior Production, Eisteddfod Preparation)

Miss McDonald has been a member of the Beau-Rock ballet school for almost 20 years. She has been highly successful at competitions and eisteddfods and represented the school in many gala performances and special events. Alana is also an accomplished dance aerobics teacher, working with school students across Victoria.

Miss McDonald has been awarded the Southern Federation of Dance Teachers Certificate, majoring in Jazz.

 

Brianna McInerney

(Beginner Classical and Jazz, Junior Production, Eisteddfod Preparation)

Miss McInerney has been a student of the Beau-Rock ballet school for many years. She has been highly successful at competitions and eisteddfods and has represented Beau-Rock at National level on several occasions.

Miss McInerney is currently working towards completing the Southern Federation of Dance Teachers Certificate.

Freya Wong

(Junior and Senior Contemporary, Eisteddfod Preparation)

Miss Wong is a highly accomplished Contemporary dancer and has successfully represented the Beau-Rock Ballet School at Eisteddfods and Competitions in this genre for many years, both locally and Nationally.

In 2017, Miss Wong will be working towards implementing the new Jason Winters' Contemporary Syllabus at Beau-Rock, with students able to sit C.S.T.D examinations in this style from 2018.

Miss Wong is currently studying for her Bachelor of Nursing (Scholar's Program) at Monash University.

 

Miss Kimberly Lawrence B.A. Grad. Dip. Dance

(Currently on Leave)

Miss Lawrence studied with Avril Binzer for 15 years before attending Deakin University where she completed the Contemporary Arts Course, majoring in Dance.

She then completed a Dance teaching course at the Queensland University and a year of study at the Australian Choreographic Conservatoire in Canberra.

She has choreographed and performed in several Contemporary works both here and in Europe. In 2009 Miss Lawrence was appointed to the SFD Board of Examiners.

Mrs Natalie Dodds M.S.F.D. M.Ed. Primary

(Currently on Leave)

Mrs Dodds has been a student and teacher at the Beau-Rock Ballet School for many years.

In 2002 she passed the SFD Teaching Certificate examination and studied the Contemporary Arts Course (majoring in Dance) at Deakin University.

In 2007 she gained her Bachelor of Primary Teaching Certificate and has recently completed her Master’s Degree.

Mrs Dodds has also worked as a backstage chaperone for young children appearing in professional theatre.
